Happy Birthday to My Grandmas with Snow!

Lilly and Carolyn want to wish their Grandmas a very happy happy birthday! God has decided to celebrate their birthdays with tons and tons of snow! Luckily, we are not totally snowed in like some other parts of the family, but it's still enough to make things interesting! Lilly also loves the snow boots so much that she has been wearing them around the house most of the day :) Carolyn stayed in with me, but Lil and Dad had a great time before Lilly decided she didn't really like the cold all that much :)

Thank Heaven

Thank Heaven for little girls. I look at this picture and just get little goosebumps thinking of how amazing they are... and that I can snuggle them both in my arms. I can't imagine anything better than the past few weeks... well, I can imagine something slightly better that would involve no one waking up at night:) I never expected to have either of them in my life at this point...but from the moment they came, I could never imagine life without them.
Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to God and a prayer for everyone that shares in this awesome experience that is parenthood... and even bigger prayers for those who are awaiting that day.
Quote for the day...
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone

Dance Party

Sometimes you just have to let loose. I apologize for the poor camera stability... I was busting a move myself :) My favorite part is at the end when she really breaks it down! If you are wondering if this is what we are at home doing all day this winter... the answer is yes!

Cutie Pies

With the help of my sisters, these girls are turning into pretty cute little gals that have it all... Jan gave Lil a cutie bob haircut, Ash gave Carolyn some cutie hair pieces, and Al has supplied Carolyn with some super cutie clothes. Here's my cutie pie pictures for the week :)

Do you think this is big enough for Lilly?

Justin and I realized this weekend that my beloved car is too small for our family at this point. We had the two girls, strollers, and us in the car, when we realized there is no room for Bailey! The poor puppy was smashed up against the rear window with strollers falling on her. So we're looking at bigger cars... here is one. do you think it's big enough to fit Lil?

Proud Mommas

Caroyln is quite the mover and shaker... check out her moves!! There's even a smile in the video too! I'm such a proud Mom :)

Lilly is also a proud mom-- to her 3 little baby dolls. She loves giving them baths and hugging them and putting lotion on them...all things good moms do :) I am a bit concered at the babies though-- they are all bald with blue eyes-- where are the brown eyed dolls??? Today we went to our first storytime at the library and she had a great time. She's still a bit shy, but after she watched all the kids for the first part, she wanted to dive right in and play... unfortunately it was time to go though! Next week I'm sure she'll want to take over the place!

Happy New Year!

It's a new year, and it's a new era at the Shafer home-- an era where babies rule and us parents are just trying to keep up! We have quite the little divas here lately. Lilly has decided that she is fine with Carolyn getting lots of attention, but only if there is someone around to give her potatoe chips and twizzlers and play doll babies...mainly this is Dad :) Carolyn is destined to be a little girlie girl if her potential :) Godmom Ashleigh has anything to say about it... check out the hair pretty below! Luckily, both of them were good girls on New Years eve and let us get out for a swanky dinner. Carolyn had to tag along, while Lil had her own party at her friend's house.

In memory of the 2009 Steeler Season... May 2010 be better to us!
