Yummies by Mommy!

I have to give a shout out to my mom, who made homemade teething biscuits for me! She used a rolling pin and everything (I didn't know she even knew how to use that thing!). They are super yummy and feel good on my gums. After awhile I got them to fall apart a bit and Jesse liked to clean up all the little pices :)

I also included two videos for your viewing pleasure at the bottom. One is of me playing happily, and the second is of a little suprise I had for mom. It reminds her of the baby commercial from the super bowl two years ago...Enjoy!

What a Saturday!

Hello All-- It's just another crazy weekend in the Shafer house! Saturday was full of excitment, which started with Swimming lessons, which Pop Pop and Grandma came to see this time! This weekend also marked my first time being watched by a non-grandparent while mom and dad had some alone time. They went to the Bearcat game while I stayed at home with Vicki and Allan, my new bestest friends :) They let me put on my hula skirt and pretend we were in Hawaii! This was after swim lessons, and before the big night out. During the evening, we went to celebrate Aunt Ashleigh's birthday at their house. I loved playing with Millie the Bulldog!! I also had a fun time showing Aunt Ashleigh how to cook, and showing the guys how to drink on the couch... I had milk of course :)

Growing-up Everyday!

Well it seems everyday I do something to impress mom. This week I've decided I prefer to sleep on my belly, and mom has been suprised to find me on my belly trying to crawl around the crib when I'm done with my naps. Then I also have decided that I really prefer to feed myself, so mom went through the grocery store finding things soft enough for me to gum up. She came up with avacado, which wasn't one of my favorites, but since I could feed it to myself, I was happy. Then I've been trying my skills out at walking. Not on my own at all, but I'm getting pretty good at moving my legs, and it's actually helping out my attempts at crawling too since I'm building up my leg muscles. Dad thinks it's so cool, so I give him a good show every night when he comes home :)

Whew....

Well I'm wore out. It was just a whirlwind of a weekend. I was on TV, did some swimming, cooking for Grandma V and went to Victoria's baptism! It was simply nuts!! Here's pictures of it all! Click on them to see them bigger.
First, I was on TV Saturday morning with my Daddy for the SPCA telethon. The picture with all the people in dresses was taken while we were on air. You can also see my Grandma S and Alyssa and Mikey were there answering phone calls before we started shooting. I raised lots of money for the doggies!

Then was Saturday night, which was Grandma V's b-day. She hates to go out on her birthday because it's so croweded being Valentine's day... so Mom and Dad cooked her an amazing meal. Dad did a new sauce on some good steaks which was really fancy, and mom made her mushroom risotto, roasted asparagus, and a chocolate lava cake. They were quite impressed with themselves. I even got a new toy from Grandma... a glow bug!

Then we had Victoria's baptism. She looked really cute in her pretty dress. I was being devilish in my red dress :) Each day we get bigger and remind our mommies and daddies that it's only a matter of time before we're running around driving them crazy!!

Taking some time to play

Yesterday I told you all about the crazy busy schedule we have going on here at my house, so today I wanted to prove to you that we do take time to smell the roses :) I have found my new favorite thing is to blow bubbles and razz at mom while she works on her computer. She's tried to catch it on camera many times, and today I let her. This was after she went on a crazy search for dried portichini mushrooms. Literally we spent the whole morning calling and going to places, as the are a key ingredient to Mom's mushroom risotto she's making tomorrow night, and finally found them at Biggs on the west side-- which we never even thought to look at until a woman at one of the high end grocery stores suggested it because they (along with every other place in Cincinnati) were out of those types of mushrooms.

Anyhow... enough about the stupid mushrooms, and here is my video I made for you!

Fun at Mom and Me Yoga

Hey All-- No pictures to show, but just wanted to tell you about my day. Today I went to Yoga with mom. It was super fun! I got to sit on my blanket and play with toys, while mom did some stretches and stuff. Alot of the stretches involved mom stopping to tickel my toes and nose, so that was fun. Some of them even involved letting me ride mom's belly and legs like a roller coster! Then at the end mom gave me a massage to work out my overworked muscles (it was hard to sit there being cute the whole time!) Needless to say, I can't wait until next week! There was also a little 6 week old boy in the class with his mom. He was pretty cute, but not as cute at the boy that sat behind me in church last Sunday. I really can't wait to see him again. We spent all mass making funny faces at each other and I kept blowing him bubbles... a sign of affection :)

Anyhow, just wanted to keep you up to date. Tomorrow I've got a busy day of shopping for birthday gifts and we're going to try and dye Grandma V's hair. I was thinking she would look good in a bright red ;) Then Saturday is the SPCA telethon, and my swim lessons and Grandma V's birthday dinner. Then finally Sunday is Victoria's Baptism-- what fun it will be to see someone else get dunked! Man, looks like I better go take a nap, it's going to be a crazy one!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Hey there everyone... so today officially kicked off birthmonth for most of my family. We have both grandmas and Aunt Ashleigh all getting a year older this month! First up was Grandma Shafer. I dressed up in my pretty red number-- but you can tell from the 3rd picture, mom needs to teach me how to sit like a lady :) I am a total big kid now, as I can drink from the sippy cup and feed myself bananas while the rest of family eats in peace :) I was a total angel in honor of Grandma's birthday.

I also got to visit some of mom's friends last night. Dad brought me to crash their fun dinner at the end-- hahaha :)

And I started the weekend off with some of Mickey's Clubhouse Saturday morning. I LOVE disney cartoons :)

On my way to Yumminess

I'm zooming past baby food and on my way to the real stuff. Check out my eating skills :) I'm practicing on sweet potatoe puffs, which I LOVE. I'm also working on some bananas, but they aren't in this video. Jesse is excited about this because she sits below my highchair and gets everything that doesn't quite make it to my mouth.

Speaking of things not making it into my mouth-- please everyone mark down that I do not care for peas, green beans, or plums. If you could please stock your cabinets full of sweet potatoes, carrots, and pears for my visits, I would greatly appreciate it -- Of course, that will change next week, so I'll keep you updated :)

HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!!

It was a party at my house when the Steelers won the Super Bowl last night! I partied with everyone until half time, and then I knew they would pull out a victory, so I went to sleep. It was a great party with lots of friends and family...one of whom made these awesome little cookies! I can't wait to be able to scarf them down. For now, I had to stick with Pumpkin, which I must say, was rather yummy!

I also had to show you all my dorkie Aunt Ashleigh and her 3D glasses :)

My Pop-Pop, Uncle Kyle, and some others decided to take a shot of icky stuff each time the Steelers scored... so I hope they feel okay this morning :) I must say though, I missed my Pap, who decided it would be more fun to go watch the game in person, instead of with me. I think he had fun though, as we kept getting messages from him just screaming...HERE WE GO STEELERS- HERE WE GO!
